Ken Cockburn Returns to This Year’s Fringe with His Summer Poetry Walks

This August, Edinburgh poet Ken Cockburn returns to some of his favourite haunts in the Auld Toun to lead his well-loved poetry walks that are now an established part of the Edinburgh Fringe programme. The walks have again been called Embro, a word for Edinburgh used by, among others, Robert Louis Stevenson and Robert Garioch.

The popular walks start from outside the Scottish Poetry Library, 5 Crichton’s Close, Edinburgh EH8 8DT at 11.00 and last till 12.30 on various dates between 7th and 26th August.

Although the walks have mainly enjoyed pleasant weather, please arrive prepared for inclement possibilities.

Tickets are on sale now via the Fringe website.

Ken is also facilitating an online workshop on Sunday 10th May, ‘Beyond the Frame’, as part of the Lapidus Scotland Budding Writers series, a 20-day sequence of daily writing workshops, which aims to inspire and enthuse writers of all kinds, as well as raising awareness of the work of Lapidus Scotland. Each workshop is a stand-alone activity led by a different facilitator.

Tickets for the full series are on a pay-what-you-can basis, with suggested rates of £25, £50 or £75 (plus booking fees), or you can donate an amount of your choice.

Full programme and booking details available on Eventbrite.
