Formed in 2010, Tortoise in a Nutshell is an Edinburgh based charity that creates world class visual theatre using a unique blend of puppetry, performance and innovation that puts their work at the forefront of visual theatre, delivering thought-provoking experiences for audiences of all ages.
From November, and for the 3rd time, Tortoise in a Nutshell will start a mini Scottish tour of their winter production Una Imagines to community venues across the country. Una Imagines conjures a multi-sensory imaginative journey through puppetry, immersive sound and magical world creation.
When Una is told there is a surprise at home, a world of possibilities explodes in her mind. A pet giraffe, a trip to the circus or are we moving to space? Join Una’s imaginative walk home in a production aimed at 4-8 year olds and their families all about the anticipation, excitement and trepidation of the unknown.
With Hana Greer playing Una and Sean Hay playing Dad, Una Imagines tours to Old School Thornhill in Dumfries and Galloway from 26th – 27th November, and North Edinburgh Arts from 30th November-5th December before closing at Tramway Glasgow from 8th-19th December. Audience seating will primarily be on the floor with cushions and mats, with seats available for anyone who requires one. The 45 minute show will be followed by a short post-show activity in the space.
Una Imagines is produced by Tortoise in a Nutshell with support from WHALE arts, Lyra and North Edinburgh Arts.
