There’s a new festival in town for 2024 – The Biscuit Factory Beverage Festival!
Featuring exceptional beer, boutique spirits, fine wines and quality beverages of all types from across the globe, it will be hosted over three sessions on Friday the 19th of April and Saturday 20th of April 2024.
Set over two floors in the former actual biscuit factory of Crawford’s in Anderson Place in Leith, the Biscuit Factory is a unique industrial space that now forms an arts venue away from the busy city centre. The Festival will host up to 350 attendees at each of the 4-hour sessions with a curation of like-minded exhibitors representing the very best in both new and established contemporary drinks from Edinburgh, the UK and further afield. Drinks fans can expect over 50 exhibitors at the festival with the full list being published at a future date.
Drinks will be available to purchase directly from the producers’ stands and many of the exhibitors will be retailing bottles and cans for attendees to purchase as gifts or to enjoy at home. Locally roasted coffee and a selection of street food, from rustic pizza and gourmet hotdogs, will also be available. Entertainment will be provided by DJs from Leith’s vibrant social scene and attendees can also play and compete in retro drinking games. The bar and entertainment will run until late Friday and Saturday night.
Managing Director of the Biscuit Factory, Fiona Hamilton, said “I’m delighted we’ll be kicking off our 2024 spring events with a home grown beverage and food festival featuring some of our wonderful Biscuit Factory tenants alongside a wide variety of makers from around the world. The Biscuit Factory celebrates and supports local talent and we are looking forward to welcoming residents of Edinburgh and beyond to our lovely venue throughout the year.”
A schedule of masterclasses and workshops from a selection of exhibitors, featuring guest speakers and Meet the Makers sessions, will be announced on the Biscuit Factory website to purchase separately.
The Biscuit Factory has also partnered with the Institute of Brewing & Distilling to host the Scottish Homebrewers Competition with participants’ home-made creations being judged by festival exhibitors for the coveted industry awards, as well as separate voting by festival attendees on the Saturday day session, for the public vote awards.
Tickets for the Biscuit Factory Beverage Festival are on sale to people 18 years and older at www.biscuitfactory.co.uk/bfbf/ for £15.00 plus booking fee per session which includes an eco-cup for sampling and purchasing drinks as well as two drinks tokens for attendees to redeem from the array of exhibitors.
The Biscuit Factory Beverage Festival is also hosting a limited capacity monthly Alternative Supper on the 20th of each month, starting 20th December to raise awareness of small, independent food and drinks brands and to promote the upcoming festival.
