Nearly 35 years ago, a film hit the cinemas that has remained in the public consciousness since then. That film was the multi-Oscar nominated blockbuster, Fatal Attraction that told the salutary tale of happily married New York attorney Dan Gallagher (Michael Douglas) who meets editor Alex Forrest (Glenn Close) on a night out in the city and end up having a night of passion. While Dan treats it as a one night stand, Alex thinks otherwise. The chilling thrilling tale, that inspired a generation of psychosexual thrillers in the years that followed, reveals the dangers of toying with a stranger.
In early 2022, a stage version of the film from Smith and Brant Theatricals and Ambassador Theatre Group Productions, who produced Patrick Hamilton’s Gaslight and Patricia Highsmith’s Strangers on a Train, will embark on a major UK Tour in 2022 that includes two Scottish dates.
Fatal Attraction is written by James Dearden, who based the stage play on his Oscar-nominated screenplay, which in turn was adapted from his 1980 short film, Diversion. The stage production will be directed byformer Associate Director at Chichester Festival Theatre Loveday Ingram.
Prepare to be on the edge of your seats!
